This project consists of an angular, two-story addition to the existing residence to dramatically expand and open up the kitchen and living room on the first floor, allowing the spaces to flow into each other. The reconfiguration of the kitchen also allows for a new mudroom to be created, making a new entry and storage area. On the second floor, the addition creates space for a new bedroom, a new, luxurious master bathroom, and a reconfigured master closet.
The exterior is given new life by repainting the exterior to a new color scheme, and creating a new partially covered patio with a stone clad fireplace and heaters. The patio brings the stone and new column aesthetic from the front facade to the rear yard, and giving a "bookend" effect to the house. Additionally, a new detached garage replaces a demolished attached garage, providing more space for both vehicles and storage.
